The Environment Problem：Greenhouse Effect

The greenhouse effect is the rise in temperature because certain gases in the atmosphere trap energy from the sun. The greenhouse effect is important. Without the greenhouse effect, the Earth would not be warm enough for humans to live. But if the greenhouse effect becomes stronger, it could make the Earth warmer than usual. The extra warming may cause problems for humans, plants, and animals. What causes greenhouse effect? CO2 is the main gas the causes Greenhouse Effect. If CO2 in the atmosphere continues to increase at current speed, it is predicted that in 2050 the average of the Earth will increase by 2° and the icebergs in south and north poles will melt. The sea level will elevate and several islands will disappear. Many animals will die because of the rising temperature. The greenhouse effect is a serious problem we have to solve. In my opinion, there are three way to solve the problem. The three way are decreasing the emission of CO2, encouraging people to take public transportation, and protecting rain forest.

First, decreasing the emission of CO2 is the fast way to solve the problem. The experts predict that the global average temperature will increase by 1.5~3℃when CO2 reaches 600 ppm. CO2 emission from increased industry has elevated the CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. The government should limit the emission of CO2 from industries.

Second, encouraging people to take public transportation is a possible solution. According to statistics, there are 30,050,000,000 vehicles with considerable waste gas emission. If we can encourage people to take public transportation successfully, the amount of cars and vehicles will be decreasing.

Third, protecting rain forest is the basic solution. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, and rain forest has many other functions such as oxygen production, dust suction. However, the total areas of rain forest shrink fast. If we don't face the problem, we'll lose the lung of the earth.

Let us be warriors to protect the Earth. We can easily achieve goal of environmental protection and air pollution prevention. It is never too late to correct our mistake. I'm sure if we start to change, the problem of greenhouse effect will be solved.
